Lavender on its own makes a wonderful muscle pain reliever. Apply 1-2 drops "neat" (not diluted) to aching joint/muscles. This is Mike's go-to for lower-back pain after a long work day.
Lavender is also a great insect repellent so we add it to our DIY bug spray. It repels mosquitoes, moths, flies, and is also soothing for calming the itch/sting of bug bites if you get one!
It also helps us get a calming, restful sleep so we often diffuse 4-5 drops of Lavender at night or spray our pillows with our Lavender-infused DIY spray. Also great for hair health, & is in mermaid hair recipes.

Jo loves making all kinds of personal care products. Citrus Fresh is one of our favourites in the diffuser for a whole-home "clean" smell, as well as in Epsom Salts for a refreshing scent while soaking in the benefits of magnesium.
We use every last drop of our oil bottles by removing the droppers and turning the bottles upside down in a jar of epsom salts overnight.
Jo also loves making DIY deodorant paste, night cream with Lemon for all kinds of skin enhancing, skin softening effects. (Lemon will make your skin extra sensitive to the sun so don't use that one on exposed skin in the daytime!)

We drink NingXia Red every single day, and Mike loves using NLBS as a personal scent...he discovered when wearing this oil that it also repels house flies. :) NLBS is a lovely oil for promoting feelings of calming & grounding. You've probably seen evidence by now that any product containing "fragrance" on the label is harming your health and the health of your loved ones. You're looking for ways to avoid toxic chemicals but as a busy parent, the convenience of wipes is hard to let go of, right? Well, what if you don't have to?
DIY Thieves Cleaning Wipes
Convenient, great for fast clean-up, require little to no time to make, and do not use any harsh chemicals!
All you need is:
Paper towels - the higher quality, the better. Cheapo ones fall apart instantly.
Thieves Household Cleaner (concentrated)
Thieves Essential Oil
An air tight container (preferably glass or stainless steel)
Cut the paper towel roll in half with a knife and set it inside the container.
In a separate bowl, mix 2 cups of water, 2 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner, and 10 drops of Thieves essential oil. Pour the mixture over the paper towel roll but avoid the inner core (because you'll be removing it and don't want to waste the liquid!).
Once the paper towels are wet, you will be able to easily lift the cardboard tube out from the middle and you can start pulling the paper towels out, just like store bought cleaning wipes!
Make sure to seal the container with a lid once you are done using them.
Using essential oils topically is one of the most popular ways to utilize their benefits in your everyday life. Base of neck: Apply after a long day for a sense of relaxation. PanAway, Deep Relief, Peppermint, Wintergreen, AromaSiez.

Belly: Apply after eating or while traveling. 1-2 drops rubbed onto the stomach and diaphragm area, or 1-2 drops in your belly button if you able to lie down for a few minutes. DiGize, Peppermint, Spearmint, Ginger, AromaEase, Fennel.
Lower abdomen: Apply monthly as desired, can be used with a warm compress. Dragon Time, Lavender, Lady Sclareol, SclarEssence, Clary Sage. (Drinking 3 oz daily of NingXia Red during this time is also very helpful!)

Citrus oils can increase sun sensitivity. Avoid sun for 12 hours after applying. Please follow all directions and cautions on individual product labels.
